Denis Santachiara was born in 1950 in Campagnola, Italy. He started his career as a designer for a car company. At the same time he started designing and realizing analytic objects, which were often shown in personal and collective exhibitions.
Since 1978, Denis Santachiara has concentrated his technological research on soft potentialities, creating images and objects of high technology and artifical density, situated between art, design and architecture. He worked as a consultant for different companies interested in the results of this research. He took part in many exhibitions proposing new categories of design and objects: "neoimmagine" and "neodesign".
Denis Santachiara's objects are part of the permanent collection in the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, the MoMA in New York, the Louvre in Paris, Museum of Lyon in France, Kunsthalle in Frankfurt and the VITRA Museum in Philadelphia.
